Lunchtime Concert – Bach and Ravel
6th July - 12:30 pm
*Please note – there is an error on our newsletter. The date of this event is Saturday 6 July.
Visit Asthall’s St Nicholas Church on Saturday 6th July as two acclaimed musicians, Violinist Priya Mitchell and Cellist Claude Frochaux, perform two miraculous works side by side. The concert will start with Bach’s most famous and beloved cello suite followed by the Sonata for Violin and Cello by Ravel written in 1920 and dedicated to Claude Debussy. Both are magical, iconic pieces and will be performed without an interval in the highly atmospheric and stunning chapel in the grounds of Asthall Manor.
This is a free event, although there will be a fund-raising collection for the Oxford Chamber Music Festival available in the Church. You are also invited to donate to the collection box for St Nicholas Church. No booking required, but if the Church is full you will be asked to stand outside, where you will be able to listen to the concert from the beautiful churchyard.
